Josephine Allen
Painter, Poet
Josephine is a figurative artist who has a passion for drawing the patterns in nature and allegory. Josephine has been exhibiting since 1985. Josephine also writes and prizes in short story and poetry.
Exhibition highlights include exhibiting with Phillip Island artists and artisans in “Postcards and Souvenirs” at the National Gallery of Victoria, Access Gallery in 1995, Convent Gallery, Daylesford. “In the Study” 1994. Solo shows include, “Moons and Moonahs” 2004, “Accord” 2011 and “The Activists” 2013. She is a regular exhibitor in group exhibitions.
Josephine has also been involved in community art projects, local theatre, including directing her play “Two Days on the Road and is a director of Island Influence Art since 1994. Presently she works part time as an Arts Officer in local Government.
